Our department serves the Academic Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Endowed Chair of Suicide Studies. Research work within our department focuses on understanding, preventing, and intervening to reduce risk of adolescent depression and suicide. 

This is an administrative position. The incumbent would handling ordering for the department, manage time sheets, plan travel for the Academic Chief, use EndNote software for referencing within manuscripts and grant submissions, and help with research projects as needed.

Seeking a diligent, efficient, organized, and highly detail oriented applicant for a multi-faceted Research Coordinator position. The incumbent will serve a key administrative support role to the Academic Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the research programs he directs. 

Support of the Academic Chief:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Academic Chief
  • Compose and distribute correspondence independently and as directed by the Academic Chief
  • Prepare extensive travel logistics for the Academic Chief.
  • Coordinate meetings with internal and external staff and research projects.
  • Prepare and edit presentations for speaking engagements.
  • Provide comprehensive assistance with referencing and citation for publications and grant submissions.
  • Initiate and track submissions for journal articles.
  • Oversee quality assurance and retrieval of literature using EndNote software.

Office Management Responsibilities:
  • Maintain records of all research storage and communications with the storage facility.
  • Responsible for collecting, entering, and managing all staff members’ time sheets.
  • Act as an administrative resource for departmental research and clinical staff.

Office Management Responsibilities Continued:
  • Interact with facilities management regarding maintenance issues that may arise.
  • Appoint all departmental work study students and student workers and supervise designated student workers in office management and research activities.

Support of the Clinical Research Training Grant:
  • Provide support to the administration of the Clinical Research Training grant including coordinating, advertising, application/interview process, evaluation collection, appointments/terminations to the program, progress reports, and grant renewals.
  • Familiarize new fellows with the policies and procedures of the University and WPIC.

Support of Departmental Research Projects:
  • Provide support in the preparation of annual grant progress reports as needed.
  • Manage the participant payment system including: assuring efficiency, effective tracking, and confidentiality of the system.
  • Assist with laboratory packing and shipping as needed.
  • Order instruments, booklets, and other forms for research projects.
  • Coordinate and schedule project-related meetings and conference calls.
  • Prepare and submit purchase requisitions, disbursement requests, and reimbursement requests.
  • Assist in research assessments on an as needed basis.
  • Complete detailed and accurate clinical narratives that provide sufficient justification for diagnostic impressions.
  • Engage in accurate and timely data management.
  • Inform study coordinator or clinical supervisor of any emergency situations including but not limited to child abuse or suicidality endorsed during assessment.


  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in psychology, neuroscience, sociology or related research field. 
  • At least one year of related experience is required in research project organization and management.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required. 
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CCM training is required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management
