The Casual Behavior Specialist Consultant provides assessment, design, and direction of the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan, which is individualized to each child or adolescent and to family needs. Services are provided as prescribed by a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist and in accordance with applicable regulations.

  • Adherence to all legal and ethical standards, and principles of confidentiality as prescribed by professional clinical standards and the Policies and Procedures of Safe Harbor Behavioral Health
  • Assessment of the frequency, intensity, and/or duration of target behaviors.
  • Attend supervision, per regulation.
  • Behavior Plan direction to parents, school personnel, BHRS Staff, and other individuals involved in the child/adolescent's treatment
  • Completion of Reinforcement Survey Schedules and additional case specific behavioral surveys as is necessary and appropriate
  • Completion of all required documentation and billing in a timely fashion and consistent with Safe Harbor Behavioral Health Procedures
  • Consistently demonstrates internal and external quality customer service standards to all that request assistance, responding in a professional manner.
  • Defining target behaviors in measurable ways.
  • Determination of appropriate data tracking systems to monitor progress and assess efficacy of specific treatment strategies
  • Development of evidence based behavior plans which adhere to the principles of strengths based, least restrictive, least intrusive clinically sound interventions
  • Functional Behavioral Analysis. Data Analysis.
  • Maintain all relevant licenses and certifications required to perform essential duties. Licenses include current valid driver's license, current valid auto insurance coverage, and professional license where applicable.
  • Members of the treatment team and family provide the service directly to the child and/or family in the home, school, day care, or other community program setting.
  • Modeling of Behavioral Plan Implementation to facilitate acquisition of skills by treatment team members.
  • Participation in inter-agency planning team meetings, ISPT meetings, and other organized, relevant exchanges of clinical information as requested and authorized by the Program Director or her designee.
  • The BSC identifies behavioral goals and intervention techniques, and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods.
  • The BSC is expected to participate in Inter-agency Service Planning Meetings.
  • The BSC may participate in child-centered, family focused meetings as well as ISPT meetings.
  • The BSC, in collaboration with other members of the treatment team, provides assessment, design, and direction of the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan which is individualized to each child or adolescent and to family needs.
  • While maintaining some direct contact with child and family, the BSC primarily provides assessment, program design, and monitoring rather than direct therapy.


  • Must have a Doctoral Degree or Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or closely related field with documented preparation in behavioral modification techniques.
  • Licensure training in Functional Behavioral Analysis and/or Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
