The Corporate Controller department at UPMC is looking for an Intermediate Accounting Analyst to provide for the moderately complex accounting and analytical activities associated with maintaining general accounts and developing financial statements and reports.  The ideal candidate has familiarity with PeopleSoft and will assist with the preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts and projections.

  • Act as a resource for entry-level accountants or administrative staff.
  • Coordinate administrative tasks, special projects and training programs as assigned.
  • Create accounting analytics for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Prepare and post moderately complex monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations for designated accounts. Propose correcting entries.
  • Prepares reconciliation of actual to budget variance analysis.


  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related business field is required.
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience is required.
  • CPA/MBA is preferred. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office with emphasis on spreadsheet application and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
