Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the personal care home in accordance with Agency policies and procedures. This will be done in a manner consistent with efficiency, cost effectiveness and regulatory compliance.

  • Attend and participate in Agency supervision/management meetings and activities.
  • Maintain and protect client and Agency confidential data/information.
  • Maintain suitable, safe and adequate living standards within the facility in accordance with agency policies and procedures and PA Personal Care Home regulations. Maintain necessary communications with DPW according to PA Personal Care Home regulations. Conduct licensing review with DPW staff when requested by the DPW Office.
  • Monitor personal care home budget and financials.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement audits.
  • Participate in training necessary to fulfill job duties.
  • Promote personal and co-worker safety during work duties.
  • Provide crisis management to residents. Consult with clinical staff in crisis situation and request treatment status, as needed. Monitor and evaluate residents for potential problems. Record crisis incidents on a problem log. Medical Psychiatric Facility
  • Provide for adequate staffing in consultation with Supervisors. Assist in recruitment and selection of staff. Determine staffing patterns required based on residents and program needs. Assure backup staff coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Provide for on-going services to residents of facility. Engage individual in individual and group therapeutic activities. Provide supportive counseling to residents. Intervene in resident conflicts for the purpose of problem resolution. Promote resident skill development in cooperation with the resident's treatment team. Act as liaison between residents, the community, and other social service agencies, including close contacts with mental health case managers and other treatment providers. Maintains resident records as required by agency policy and licensing body.
  • Provide for on-going supervision and evaluation of performance of staff.
  • Provide for orientation and on-going education of staff. Coordinate and counsel staff in prioritizing resident needs and planning for services. Coordinate and conduct staff meetings on a regular basis.
  • Provide for screening and admissions of residents to the facility. Screen referrals and review with supervisor. Complete paperwork necessary for admission of residents. Orient residents to and enforce rules of the facility. Orient residents to available services within the Agency and other agencies in the community.
  • Provide for the provision of services within personal care home. Provide for the personal care, nutrition and leisure needs of residents.
  • Represent and participate in Agency professional and community activities as requested.
  • Submit reports on service provision to Community Services Manager on a regular basis.
  • Work to achieve and maintain quality and customer satisfaction in the delivery of services to internal/external customers.


Associates degree, or RN, or LPN with a minimum of one year of related work experience required. 100 Hours of Personal Care Home Administrator Training Certificate required, or must be willing to receive PCH training certificate within 6 months of hire. In lieu of education requirements, employment experience as a Personal Care Home Manager within the last 365 days required. Experience working with mental health clients is preferred. Competency in computer skills in a Windows based environment. Access to transportation in the Agency service area with valid Pennsylvania drivers license and auto liability insurance. Must complete all required Personal Care Home Administrator trainings to meet regulatory compliance. Availability for evening and weekend on-call.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire If employee is hired with RN or LPN individual must maintain that licensure.
