The Laboratory of Neurocognitive Development (LNCD) is currently seeking an Research Administrative Assistant III. Our research group is focused on normative cognitive development, as well as atypical development such as in schizophrenia and substance use. Our current research focuses on delineating brain circuitry underlying higher-order cognition including networks for voluntary response suppression and spatial working memory. We use multimodal neuroimaging (fMRI, DTI, and PET) to characterize neurocognitive developmental specialization during the adolescent transition from childhood to adulthood.
The primary function of the Research Assistant is to maintain the Principal Investigator's daily schedule, providing feedback to her to keep her ‘on track’. Additionally, the employee will handle the front end of all of her travel for talks, conferences, site visits, etc. Beyond that, the employee disseminates reminders to all lab personnel of upcoming meetings (either individual or full lab), and ensures that any changes to the schedule are explained well in advance. The ideal candidate can multitask, and provide daily direct support to the needs of the PI, to ensure that she is efficiently using her time.
Perform research related functions in support of a grant funded research project.

  • Perform basic clerical and/or data entry functions.
  • Perform entry level research related functions in support of a research project(s).
  • Communication
    • Greets subjects and visitors, answers phones and channels inquiries to the responsible staff member
    • Attends meetings as needed, able to take notes and minutes 
      researches and analyzes information as requested
  • Scheduling
    • Maintain Primary Investigator's schedule and helps prepare for all meetings
    • Plan and book PI’s travel arrangements
    • Set up and maintain lab regular meeting schedule
    • Manage and track lab staff schedules
    • Maintain schedules for various rooms
  • Administration
    • Provide administrative support for PI and faculty
    • Contact the development company for lab maintenance as needed
    • Maintain lab webpage and Facebook


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
  • Prior research experience preferred.
  • Preferred skills: administrative writing and reporting skills, ability to manage multiple schedules, efficient time management, presentation skills, provide basic office equipment troubleshooting, and coordinate travel logistics

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
