The Office Manager will primarily be responsible for the timely and organized operation of the general services of UPMC South Hills Endocrinology! Duties include, but are not limited to, scheduling, coordinating templates, coordinating all operational tasks, and assisting the director of the center on a daily basis. This person will be responsible for ordering all supplies utilized in the clinical area, and for coordinating the maintenance of the equipment.


While the primary location will be UPMC South Hills Endocrinology, there will also be times when the Office Manager will travel to and work out of UPMC Mercy's office location.


  • Anticipate scheduling issues when members of the staff are not scheduled.
  • Be cognizant of and apply relative administrative, UPP, and departmental policies and procedures for the protection of the patients, staff and department.
  • Coordinate and staff laser templates, ensuring that patients are properly scheduled.
  • Ensure that the clinical environment is patient friendly, appropriate for staff and physicians to work, and be productive by working closely with the staff and physicians responding to issues and problem-solving.
  • Maintain correspondence with the Practice Manager concerning personnel, human resource, supplies, and patient issues.
  • Order all supplies and services as needed for this practice.
  • Provide and coordinate maintenance on all equipment used by the clinical staff of the department.
  • Review patient schedules routinely to troubleshoot for overbooked clinics, as well as staffing in respective areas of the department.


  • Bachelors Degree in Health Care or Business AND one year experience
  • OR Associates Degree in Health Care or Business AND three years of experience
  • OR High School Diploma AND five years of experience.
  • Prior office management experience highly preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a medical setting preferred.
  • Experience with ordering supplies and/or equipment maintenance preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
