Description


Oversees the analysis of outside market data with Susquehanna Health's financial data. Plays acritical role in business development, strategic planning and decision support for the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates business data analysis and interpretation, forecasting and trends with other departments, service line leaders and physicians.
  • Designs/utilizes the right tools to capture customer satisfaction and evaluate concerns. Creates and promotes a work team environment where focus is routinely placed on achieving the highest level of patient/customer satisfaction. Hardwires evidence based best practices to enhance the customer/patient experience. Has an understanding of customer centric service metrics and implements plan to achieve highest levels of patient/customer experience.
  • Directs decision support and cost accounting dashboards for major product lines and services.Evaluates and monitors product line and service development through report and market intelligence analysis.
  • Effective leaders energize their staff, increasing motivation to be successful in their jobs. Maintains adequate staffing levels to provide department services. Creates a positive department environment that fosters open communication and teamwork. Enforces and manages a culture of C.A.R.E.2 and personal accountability. Encourages and actively participates in climate survey action plans to support a culture of positivity.
  • Emotional intelligence is the knowledge needed to effectively communicate on an interpersonal level,building strong personal relationships. Good communicators understand others' emotions while managing their own emotional responses during difficult conversations. Demonstrates effective interpersonal relationships with all service partners, including physicians and volunteers. Places a higher priority on team goals than individual goals and personal success/recognition. Uses data to support opinions, and values shared decision making processes. Builds strong relationship and commitment towards organization goals through professional interactions with others. Models C.A.R.E.2 behaviors in all interactions with others.
  • Exceptional leaders are often keenly aware of emerging trends and place the organization in a position to take advantage of opportunities. They identify long and short-term goals that support the organization's strategic plan. Allocates required resources, allows for contingencies and ensures that plans fit with the larger needs of the organization. Sets milestones to measure progress along the way.
  • Facilitates the aggregation, tracking and analysis of critical information in support of finance and strategic planning by ensuring assimilation of quality, accurate data and identifying opportunity.
  • Has a solid understanding of the organization's Mission, Vision and Values and is able to help translate those into service partner activity which leads to results. Mission, Vision and Values form the basis for the organizations culture. Effective leaders are fully engaged in the culture and help service partners connect to a purpose in their work which is reflective of the culture.
  • Makes a proactive approach to anticipating and preventing problems. When a problem occurs, defines those problems, investigates obstacles, gathers relevant information, and decides on an appropriate solution. Is able to anticipate problems before they occur and develop action plans to mitigate the impact. Good leaders are able to build consensus in teams to solve problems for the best outcomes.
  • Manages the assessment of market positions, developments, trends, demographics, strategic options and product line definitions in collaboration with other system strategic support persons or groups.
  • Manages the collection and monitoring of complex financial, economic and operational analysis based on national, state, regional and local data.
  • Participates in and welcomes self-assessment opportunities. Participates in SH offered education activities and is fully engaged while in attendance. Maintains active membership in professional associations and keeps abreast of changes in the health care industry as it relates to the special area of expertise. Completes all educational activities as required by SH.
  • Possesses sufficient job skills and knowledge to perform the job in a competent manner. Is able to demonstrate skills and knowledge in day-to-day situations. Produces an amount of work that meets or exceeds job expectations. Makes sure that quality does not suffer as the quantity of work increases.
  • Serves as a leader on the strategic planning team, implementing the annual strategic planning
  • Serves as a resource/consultant across the organization including executive management and physician leadership for decision support.
  • Serves as an expert user of EPSI service line cost accounting system. Utilizes EPSI costing module,masters EPSI service line dashboard system and develops service line reports integration.
  • States clear expectations and specific timelines/deadlines when assigning and committing to project work. Dedicates necessary resources to achieve intended results. Adheres to ethical, legal and regulatory standards. Strongly encourages team to accept responsibility and models those behaviors outlined in the Code of Conduct. Is a good financial steward of the organizations resources and develops department plans that utilize resources effectively.
  • Supports the ongoing strategic planning structure through data management and financial analysis for existing and new programs and service lines.
  • Takes a positive approach to change and continuously implements quality improvement processes. Remains open to suggested changes and does not become defensive when offered new solutions. Effective in helping service partners deal with change in a positive way to achieve desired results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is preferred. 
  • Two years of management or related experience overseeing support staff in Business, Finance, Marketing or related field is required.
