The Manager provides leadership to the day to day operation, support, development, installation, and delivery of technology products and services within the department or business unit. The Manager is further responsible for the identification and development of talent and for managing performance to ensure business goals and objectives are met, if not exceeded. This position sits within the ISD EHR Technical Team

  • Completes performance evaluations and coaches/mentors staff.
  • Contributes to department's short-term strategy and goals.
  • DATA GOVERNANCE Role: Application Steward Applications: NIH Outlier Monitoring and Alerting (NOMA) Application Steward: Governs specific applications and has decision rights and accountability over an application. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, maintaining an application inventory and related metadata, enhancing data collection processes to reduce data integrity issues, prioritizing data integrity issues, enhancing testing and validation of outbound data, participating in the creation and use of master data. For additional information, please consult the Information Ownership and Classification Policy (HS-DG3000) in the system-wide policies section of the UPMC Infonet which outlines the responsibilities and rights of the Information Owners, Information Stewards, and the Data Governance Council for the appropriate use and management of data.
  • DATA GOVERNANCE Role: Analytics Steward Reporting Team: Cerner Analytics Steward: Represents a team of individuals that create reports and analytics solutions and has decision rights and accountability over analytics solutions (e.g., reports and business intelligence solutions). Responsibilities include but are not limited to, reducing duplication of solutions, confirming to standard definitions and presentation guidelines, maintaining integrity of business intelligence solutions, identifying common facts and dimensions used for analytics and participating in Data Governance activities.
  • Facilitates successful completion of projects, tasks, and initiatives by embracing a team-first approach. Works in collaboration with multiple teams and offers feedback, where appropriate, to complete individual and group efforts.
  • Identify, create and apply process improvement to increase product and service quality to achieve business objectives.
  • Manages a single team function of individual contributors.
  • Provides input on budget planning. Responsible for managing to budget.
  • Responsible for continuous self-study, trainings, partnering with management, and/or seeking out opportunities to broaden scope to stay up to date with industry and organizational trends. Seeks feedback from management and team for development and effectively incorporates feedback into work and behaviors.
  • Responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day to day work and projects within department.
  • Responsible for ensuring that service is provided to the ISD client community, patients, families and visitors, while protecting the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information through physical and electronic measures.


  • Nine years of total related experience, with at least two years experience in a leadership role OR equivalent combination of education/experience. 
  • Strong project management, problem solving, organizational, relationship, communication, and negotiation skills (oral and written) are required. 
  • Strong understanding of IT strategy and how it relates to business objectives. 
  • Ability to apply extensive experience to highly complex problems.
Preferred Skills: 
  • Previous Cerner application experience
  • Technical background, programming or development would be preferred.

Salary Range: $39.94 to $64.95
