UPMC Health Plan is hiring a Senior Digital Product Manager to collaborate with creative, technical, and business partners to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the digital properties(mobile apps, web-based applications, and third-party tools) that make our insurance products understandable and usable for our members while meeting member health, revenue, and customer satisfaction goals. This position will focus on digital health therapeutic mobile apps that directly improve the lives of our members.



Responsibilities:
  • Apply KPIs, user research, customer input, business needs, and other sources to the prioritization of product features and an evolving product vision Define product strategy and maintain roadmaps for digital products Transform data to insight and product decisions
  • Approve product for launch Advocate for the end-user and identify opportunities to improve products to benefit the user experience Change agent stay current on digital trends and ensure that products remain relevant Translate requirements for multiple audiences using Job Stories (JTBD) or other relevant formats Ensure timely delivery of product goals
  • Assess key market factors, including competitive landscape, consumer insights and unmet customer needs as input to innovative products, services and programs to meet the unique needs of members and stakeholders
  • Be able to clearly articulate the value proposition and brand promise of the segment in order to define and guide the development of all marketing materials
  • Be able to clearly articulate the value proposition and brand promise of the various products and segments
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Capture all requirements and incorporate into a seamless customer experience. Align to market segment needs
  • Create and deliver product-centered presentations to diverse audiences Translate requirements for multiple audiences using Job Stories (JTBD) or other relevant formats Ensure timely delivery of product goals
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for the segments
  • Develop a multiyear customer experience strategy within program assignment
  • Distribute credit and block blame to/from team members Identify resource gaps and make business cases to acquire resources that will aid the delivery of product goals Assess key market factors, including competitive landscape, consumer insights and unmet customer needs as input to innovative products, services and programs to meet the unique needs of users and stakeholders
  • Facilitate vendor evaluation and build vs. buy decisions Manage products and features through the entire SDLC - unafraid to challenge whether a product/feature is still useful Provide input to marketing on the design marketing tests including messaging, creative, channel, design and targeting.
  • Help to ensure quality through UAT testing Lead the development of new/modified processes and procedures to support product strategy Take on project management and/or business analysis responsibilities when those roles are not present Understand needs of the user, stakeholders, and partners and how they relate to product(s) managed
  • Lead functional or segment teams or projects
  • Manage personnel needs and allocations as part of the personnel scheduling committee Communicate statuses and shifting priorities to all relevant stakeholders, negotiate for desired outcomes Ensure market/business need to product fit Prioritize competing work requests When needed, create and deliver training on digital products Strategically assist in the design and delivery of a holistic and consistent user experience across products
  • Manage the products throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision and working closely with stakeholders teams to deliver winning products

  • Understand current product and service offerings and develop appropriate strategic changes and additions to improve the quantity and quality of our suite of tools for members and other stakeholders
  • Work internally with our channel leaders to provide product training and product consultation to ensure our digital offerings are known and understood throughout the organization
  • Work with the Product Manager-Vendor Management to ensure that we are optimizing our development resources and preventing redundant work

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in MIS, Information Technology, HCI, Business, or equivalent; Masters degree/MBA preferred.
  • Six plus years experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, or related field.
  • Experience leading large digital efforts (1y+/multi-million dollar product development efforts in the web and mobile space).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience presenting to all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working across disciplines (IT, Marketing, Sales, etc.) and analyzing stakeholder needs SDLC.
  • Ability to apply great ideas from multiple diverse sources to find the best solution to a problem or set of problems.
  • Self- starter with ability to deal with ambiguity and to adapt and embrace change.
  • Skill with computers and mobile devices; able to use and adopt necessary software productivity products and new platforms as needed.
  • Agile/Scrum exposure as a Product Owner or Scrum Master preferred.
  • Health insurance or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Past supervisory experience of digital or design professionals preferred.
  • Analytics/data-driven background preferred.
  • Experience with multi-channel digital asset delivery preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse groups to create requirements in Job Story (JTBD) format preferred.
  • Previous experience managing a mobile first product is preferred.
