We are seeking a full-time Director of Imaging Services to oversee our Radiology Support team for our campuses in the Pittsburgh-area townships of McCandless, Cranberry, and Hampton.

As Director, you will develop, plan, and lead the operations of the defined Imaging support staff, as well as lead and/or manage system Imaging Service Center initiatives, projects or teams as defined. You will provide day to day operational support and leadership to imaging employees and radiologists. Additionally, you will work closely in full cooperation with hospital and imaging administrative and physician leadership to carry out the mission and vision of the UPMC Health System, and Imaging Service Center.

  • Conveys courtesy, respect, enthusiasm and positive attitudes with patients, staff, medical staff and visitors. Function as departmental liaison with hospital administration, medical staff, Patient Care Services, external referring physicians and office staff, and other hospital departments. Provide ongoing leadership and support to radiologists assigned to business unit. Supports leadership in activities including roll-out of operational and quality initiatives. Develops policies and procedures in conjunction with local hospital operations as well as Imaging Service Center.
  • Establishes criteria for setting priorities; defining goals and objectives on selected initiatives in conjunction with local hospital priorities as well as the Imaging Service Center. Defines and reports results
  • Keep current regarding developments in professional/technical fields, taking leadership role internally and externally in providing patient and community education. Support research initiatives and operations if applicable.
  • Maintains departmental compliance with accrediting bodies (i.e. TJC, ACRO, DOH, CMS, OSHA, DEP, etc.) and ensures all activities are carried out in compliance with organizational policy and local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing activities, organizational structures, management philosophy and mission and vision statements.
  • Monitors and analyzes financial performance, including profitability and volume metrics. Implements appropriate changes to increase efficiencies, enhance revenue, and control expenses. Supervises and oversees budget development, including operational and capital budgets with attention to department and organizational program goals, established standards of performance, and economic constraints; Demonstrates creativity and initiative and focus on cost containment and operational effectiveness activities. Monitors operating statistics and patterns to identify trends and changes across the business unit.
  • Participates in developing a corporate culture of patient and staff satisfaction, empowerment, problem solving and accountability.
  • Provides oversight and support to staff. Ensures performance evaluations are completed timely and accurately, and establishes performance goals and developmental plans to continue to promote ongoing professional development.
  • Responsible for system imaging initiatives, projects, or management of programs as defined by the Imaging Service Center.


  • Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration or related field
  • 7 years of experience
  • 3 years in a management capacity
  • Masters Degree in Health Care Administration or related field
  • Completion of the Fellowship Program Graduate OR 5 years of experience
  • 3 years in a management capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary.
  • Flexibility in working with staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational management skills.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • ARRT or RN Preferred
  • Act 31 Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
