Ensure safety and reliability of campus wide electrical system. Schedule, assign and follow up on work orders & PM's.

  • External contact with contractors, vendors, design professionals and regulatory agencies for the purpose of coordination, work specification and code compliance.
  • Function as the Lead Electrician for the purpose of scheduling and delegating work to other employees in the department.
  • Internal contact with all levels of hospital staff for schedule and work clarification purposes.
  • Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Promote patient safety.


  • High school graduate or GED required. 
  • Graduate of electrical trade school required. 
  • Ten years experience in commercial or health care maintenance preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical wiring diagrams required. 
  • Knowledge of the national electrical code and N.F.P.A. codes required.
  • Strong knowledge of JCAHO Environment of Care standards preferred.
  • May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • City of Pittsburgh Electrician License preferred.
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Driver's License
