UPMC is looking for someone interested in a unique opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in a specialty (IBD) medical home! 


Provide nutrition-related expertise in the interdisciplinary team management of all patients and clients within a specialty area.

  • Accountable as nutrition liaison/expert to assigned unit responding to needs and initiatives for nutritional care process improvement.
  • Consult with physician and other health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions. Accurately assess patient's nutritional status, identify nutritional risk, develop plans of care and evaluate outcomes.
  • May engage in research and teaching nutrition and diet therapy to students and hospital personnel.
  • Provide nutritional information to patients and their families in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, and preparation.


B.S. degree in Nutrition or Dietetics with additional advanced degree and/or specialty certifications (i.e., Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management, Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD), Board Certified as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition, Board Certified as Specialist in Renal Nutrition, Certified by the Board of Certified lactation Consultants, Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), and Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management.) 1 year specialty experience in dietetics required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist in Pennsylvania (within 6 months of hire)

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist
  • Registered Dietician
