This position will provide research and clinical support to the National Institute on Aging supported Human Connectome Project and other related federal/foundation supported projects. Must interact with older adult research volunteers with cognitive functions ranging from normal to mild dementia (Alzheimer Disease). Administer and score neuropsychological test batteries, computerized cognitive tasks, and questionnaires with research volunteers; conduct inter-rater reliability studies; conduct research related assessments through the HCP; monitor quality of data; assist faculty and staff with paperwork for HCP; and work with other HCP staff and Investigators in scheduling, study coordination, data tracking, organizing and transfer, and providing community-based outreach programs.

This position is grant funded.

  • Collaborate in all recruitment activities, handle project specific tasks, and assist with day to day activities for research project including recruitment, data collection, participant payments, budget management, etc.
  • Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s) as needed.
  • Administer and score the HCP neuropsychological test battery, and additional specialized assessments. Provide a safe and comfortable environment, allowing the patient to perform at an optimal level. Within the guidelines of APA, monitor patient progress and discuss individual cases with patient and/or family, faculty and staff. Participate in inter-rater reliability studies regarding the neuropsychological test battery.
  • Participate in research related activities in conjunction with collaborative studies/programs being conducted in the HCP by administering neuropsychological assessments for all studies and screening patient charts. Monitor quality assurance activities and investigate data queries as necessary.
  • Assist study faculty and staff for study registry. Perform quality assurance activities regarding HCP and other project data bases. Perform data verification, assist with data projects.


  • Bachelors degree required preferably in psychology, neuroscience, sociology, or related research field. 
  • Previous experience with geriatric/psychiatric populations and knowledge of neuropsychology would be helpful but not necessary.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required. 
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required. 
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
