The WOC Clinician is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. You will be setting the standards for the level and quality of care for patients with ostomies, incontinence, wounds, fistulas and skin care. The role of the WOC Clinician encompasses leadership, partnership, and collaboration with other members of the Healthcare Team.

  • Actively participates in shared governance at department level and serves on or acts as a resource to hospital-wide councils
  • Responsible for providing service-based education and clinical expertise for staff including orientation and training
  • Serves as a leader in clinical nursing practice, identifying patient and staff focused opportunities for improvement and leading the change process
  • Identifies, educates and supports the psychological and learning needs of staff during change and transition
  • Practices Participatory leadership Participates in the system wide meetings of WOCN nurses
  • Acts as a consultant and liaison for system wide initiatives relevant to area of clinical expertise Leads the business unit's skin care team
  • Formulates goal and a plan of care for applicable patients that involves the patient as a partner and considers the individual needs of the patient in a holistic manner
  • Practices superior communication skills and is able to articulate and translate the patient's condition to other care providers negotiate and make recommendations for changes in patient care
  • Communicates the plan of care to the nursing staff, physicians, patient and family, and other members of the health care team as applicable
  • Documentation of patient care and plan of care is complete and promotes communication between caregivers
  • Builds and mends relationships among colleagues within the framework of a healthy workplace
  • Role models keen cultural awareness including preventing and addressing horizontal violence and impairment
  • Maintains a conscious balance between work and personal life through prioritization and delegation of responsibilities


  • BSN required 
  • MSN preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience
  • Certificate of attendance of a WOCN board certified WOCNEP required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse license
Certification in wound and ostomy from the WOCN required 
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire 
  • Act 33 Child Clearance
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Automotive Insurance
  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Driver's License
  • Older Adult Protective Services Act
  • Registered Nurse
