To meet program goals, the Education Manager will assist the Director of Clinical Operations with the coordination of continuing education activities for the STAT MedEvac system. The Education Manager, working with the Medical Directors also formulates the yearly continuing education plan for the program to include: Video teleconferences, annual competencies assessment, and other presentations as proscribed by medical direction. The Education Manager is expected to function as a flight nurse or flight paramedic and to adhere to the responsibilities of that position.

  • Access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent necessary to complete his/her duties, and only share that information with individuals or entities with a 'need to know' specific to the patient information.
  • Adheres to all clinical responsibilities of a flight nurse or paramedic.

  • Assists the Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Director in the development and coordination of the orientation and internal mandatory continuing education programs. Enhances clinical knowledge, skill maintenance and operational procedures in response to the STAT MedEvac Quality Improvement program recommendations and air medical industry requirements. Maintains a database regarding the STAT MedEvac flight crew's annual continuing education requirements. Coordinates all STAT MedEvac orientation didactic sessions. Coordinates dates and locations of internal mandatory continuing education sessions. Coordinates attendance and continuing education roster with Administrative Coordinator. Updates STAT MedEvac training calendar of external continuing education opportunities available for flight crew members. Coordinates the AED training of all non-clinical personnel in the administrative offices building. Identifies areas for continuing education specific to the needs of the medical crews and STAT MedEvac system through documentation reviews, staff interactions, and customer needs to the Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Director.
  • Communicates in a professional and effective manner with STAT MedEvac flight crew members, administration and customers. Contacts and updates the Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Director as needed regarding continuing education attendance and discipline issues. Contacts and updates the Director of Clinical Operations and Medical Director of any Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH) continuing education issues. Contacts the Director of Clinical Operations regarding all administrative issues, including audio visual equipment and technology needs.
  • Ensures that all CAMTs required continuing education presentations are completed
  • Functions as a professional representative of the STAT MedEvac system and supports and upholds the mission, goals, and objectives of the system at all times. Utilizes proper channels for improvement of the system and will maintain a positive customer service approach at all times. Maintains a professional and neat appearance while working and representing STAT MedEvac during other functions. Maintains a cooperative, team-oriented working relationship with co-workers.
  • Maintains documentation and reports on all patient records that are disseminated to appropriate individuals or entities.
  • Maintains privacy of all patient information in accordance with the STAT MedEvac privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state laws.
  • Protects the privacy of all patient information in accordance with STAT MedEvac Policies and Practices, as required by State and Federal Law.
  • Supports and participates in the STAT MedEvac Continuous Quality Improvement Plan. Works with the Clinical Manager and Director of Clinical Operations to coordinate the activities of the Quality Improvement Council including active participation as a facilitator and/or participant. Follow through on Quality Improvement activities as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations or Medical Director. Collaborates with Medical Directors in developing and completing research projects designed to advance or evaluate system operational and/or clinical care. Participates in and facilitates the CAMTS accreditation process.


  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing, management or education required; 
  • Masters degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a flight crew member required. 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an education or managerial role is required. 
  • The ability to manage staff with excellent skills in interpersonal conflict resolution is required. Must have a willingness to formulate, support, and implement program goals and objectives. 
  • The Education Manager must have superior clinical knowledge, skill, and judgment, with the ability to work productively and effectively within a complex Air-Medical environment. 
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. The Education Manager must possess demonstrated ability to initiate and direct multiple projects, initiate and manage contracts, and meet deadlines for assigned tasks.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania registered nurse and pre-hospital registered nurse is required. Additional professional licensure may also be required at the discretion of the Director, Clinical Operations in the following jurisdictions: Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, New York, Delaware, Washington, D.C. OR Commonwealth of Pennsylvania certified EMT-P and national registry EMT-P required. Additional EMT-P certifications may also be required at the discretion of the Director, Clinical Operations in the following jurisdictions: Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, New York, Delaware, Washington, D.C. Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) or Flight Paramedic � Certified (FP-C) credential required or obtained within 6 months of employment. The Education Manager must possess and maintain current and in good standing all clinical certifications required of the Flight Nurse or Paramedic job description (ACLS, PALS, NRP, ITLS, BLS, etc.).
