Plan, coordinate, and implement the activities related to Allegheny County Alcohol, Tobacco and Other drug (ATOD) and violence and gambling prevention and education. Identify needs for educational programs for schools and community organizations. Utilize evidenced-based prevention and training curricula as determined by the Addiction Medicine Services, Program Manager in conjunction with Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Drug and Alcohol Programs and Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP).

This position is based out of the Franklin Building, 1011 Bingham Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.

  • Coordinate and implement special requests from contractors and regulatory entities as they pertain to ATOD prevention services.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement addiction-related education and prevention programs as determined by community needs, school system requirements and directives from local, regional and state regulatory bodies.
  • Provide evidence-based prevention programs throughout Allegheny County for professional, business, faith, school, and community organizations in diverse geographic neighborhood with varying age groups and populations.
  • Work with the Addiction Medicine, WPIC leadership in carrying out the duties and mandates related to a broad range of prevention activities.


  • Master's degree in Education and/or Human Service field required. 
  • Three (3) years of experience in teaching, treatment or related prevention field required. 
  • Knowledge of federal and state addiction prevention programs is preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 31 Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management - CCM training is required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
