About the Program
The UPMC Clinical Neurophysiology Summer Associates Program is an 11-week, paid internship. The UPMC Center for Clinical Neurophysiology provides diagnostic testing and continuous real time intraoperative (during surgery) monitoring of the nervous system. Located at UPMC Presbyterian, our Summer Associates (SAs) will work with our Surgical Neurophysiologists in the operating room providing Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM), which also involves assisting with setting up for surgical procedures, collecting data and making annotations. Our SAs will gain clinical hands-on experience with additional time allocated for didactic lectures and educational training concurrent with CNIM certification principals to prepare for a career in healthcare. To help benefit our group of Surgical Neurophysiologist, our SAs will complete research projects and lead group discussions that facilitate learning new IONM concepts.

During your internship program, you will have the opportunity to network with UPMC Executives, give back to the Pittsburgh Community through Summer Associate service events, receive mentorship, enhance your skills with hands-on real-world experience and training, and most importantly, work on projects that make an impact on patient care while gaining knowledge on how we provide Life Changing Medicine. And have a little bit of fun too!

Come spend your Summer with us!
