Develop, interpret and apply organizational and departmental policies and procedures, budgets, goals and objectives consistent with the strategic plan.

  • Assist the Director with management of departmental operations.
  • Attend and represent department at hospital committee meetings as assigned by the Director.
  • Develop and apply all operational policies and procedures for all the sections of radiology.
  • Develop and maintain the departmental annual budget including the monitoring of monthly expenditures and variance reports.
  • Develop goals, action plans and contingency plans; organize and communicate Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Department of Environmental Protection information and requirements.
  • Ensure that staff are competent to perform High Level Disinfection of Ultrasound probes
  • Identify and respond to complaints, problems, and issues, conduct investigation, take corrective action and prepare related documentation.
  • Interview, select, orient, evaluate, schedule, counsel and discipline assigned personnel.
  • Monitor the efficacy of the schedules distributed/posted by, the Supervisors, and Lead Technologists.
  • Participate in the development and completion of departmental goals and objectives. 
  • Contribute to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.


  • Bachelors Degree in health related field required. 
  • 5 years in a radiology discipline with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity required.  
  • Ability to develop and implement tactical plan for the areas of responsibility. Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of specific needs of the patients served. 
  • Knowledge of the human growth and development of the patients served. Understanding of the range of imaging, (disease processes and treatment), needed by the patients served. 
  • Good critical thinking skills. 
  • Excellent communications skills. 
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Access

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Must possess registry in radiology, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, or MRI (ARRT or RDMS).
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • American Registered Radiologic Technologists or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
