Responsible for processing and maintaining patient diet orders through automated diet office software. Utilizes customer friendly telephone skills to interact with patients and nursing to problem solve issues with food service.

  • Assists patients with menu planning in accordance with diet order in a helpful, friendly manner.
  • Communicates patient concerns or issues to supervisor or clinical staff in a timely fashion.
  • Maintains record-keeping and prepares reports as assigned.
  • Prepares tray tickets for food assembly according to workflow procedures in the operation.
  • Processes all nutrition care orders according to established procedures in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Processes all phone calls using appropriate telephone skills. Follows up on issues in a timely manner to resolution.
  • Troubleshoots interface issues with diet orders and resolves. Reports software and printer problems to appropriate IS individual / group in a timely fashion.
  • Work in dish room, clean off trays, putting plates, silverware and cups into racks, through dish machine and restocking areas with clean items.


HS Diploma/GED OR 1 YR previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED Ability to read and write English, follow oral and written instructions, use simple arithmetic, and maintain simple records and prepare reports. Skills: Strong customer service orientation demonstrating a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and professionalism. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members and all customers Flexibility to adjust to fluctuating workloads and schedule Ability to use current technology and computer skills

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Older Adult Protective Services Act
