Description

The Center for Integrative Medicine at UPMC Shadyside is a university hospital-based outpatient program offering complementary and integrative health services around general health, mental health, and pain-related problems. The mission for the Center encompasses clinical care, research, and education. As part of the research mission, we are conducting several pilot and early phase research studies.

This position will involve contact with study participants, scheduling appointments, administering standard questionnaires, follow-up of study participants, collecting, entering and verifying data, assisting in quality control procedures, and general clinical research assistance.

Purpose:
Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s). Collect and gather research data for research project.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection and reports according to the needs of the study.
  • Independently execute job functions for research protocols including recruitment, scheduling, obtaining informed consent, participant payments, collecting data, and conducting phone or face to face interviews.
  • Assist in data entry and data quality control.
  • Follow appropriate research policies and procedures including all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Follow the reporting procedures for incidents and serious events that may occur with research participants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in psychology, health sciences, or research related field. 
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required. 
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required. 
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 31 Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management
