Responsible for the coordination and supervision of daily billing operations including claims submission and third party follow up processes. Provides support, training, development, and guidance of the Billing Specialist I, Billing Specialist II, Business Analyst, and Business Service Clerk in their daily activities. Interacts with personnel within the PSD and all external parties as needed for performing necessary revenue cycle processes.

  • Analyze and trend billing issues related to A/R, i.e. Specialty, Payer, Provider etc, for efficiencies while taking a proactive approach to resolve A/R issues prior to escalation.
  • Engage in open communication with PSD personnel regarding information system, third party payer, and regulatory updates and/or enhancements.
  • Maintains a good working knowledge of the specific billing requirements for all payers for multiple specialty services.
  • Provides ongoing training and development of staff as required to ensure payer requirements are met.
  • Responsible for approving time off requests maintaining adequate staffing whenever possible.
  • Responsible for the coordination and supervision of daily billing operations to ensure maximum productivity, accuracy of claims submission, and third party follow up through automated work queues while assisting with resolution of disputed claims.
  • Review claims editing reports for consistent errors and follow up with the PSD management for improvement in quality and performance.


  • High School graduate or equivalent, Bachelors Degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years staff supervisory experience in a professional billing environment or other health care environment preferred. 
  • Must be knowledgeable of medical terminology, electronic and manual claims processing, and third party payer billing guidelines and reimbursement practices for multiple specialties. 
  • Must be able to establish priorities, effectively problem solve, and use good judgment and decision making in day-to-day billing operations. 
  •  Must have ability to communicate well both orally and in writing. 
  •  Requires prior working experience on personal computers and various office equipment.
