UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Planning/Reporting Analyst I. This is a Monday through Friday (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) position based out of downtown Pittsburgh, PA. The Analyst will provide support to UPMC Health System senior leadership in new business development, account management, and on-going activities by participating in planning and marketing activities which may include market analysis and research, strategic planning, competitive analysis, direct marketing, and reporting trends.

 

 

Experience using SQL is preferred.


Responsibilities:

  • Accurately complete work assignments with virtually 100% accuracy including numerical accuracy, correct header/footers and easy-to-understand formatting.
  • Assist other units during periods of backlogs.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm and initiative on a daily basis. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment a must.
  • Demonstrate effective planning and organizational skills in order to complete job responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of UPMC Health System, specific business unit, business lines and services, markets served, and competitors and apply to marketing projects.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic and tool sets as required to complete work assignments such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Ika, Internet, Access, Actuate and Enterprise software
  • Demonstrate technical/computer proficiency with the Department's tool sets.
  • Effectively utilize the standard planning methodologies, report formats and documentation procedures.
  • Execute data searches, manipulate findings and analyze data. Identify trends and significant findings and validate findings.
  • Extract data, prepare adhoc reports, and assist in the development of high quality draft reports
  • Maintain database integrity by checking and correcting errors.
  • Maintain organized files of supporting documentation.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects, and forge strong interpersonal relationships within the department, with other departments, and with external audiences.
  • Read industry, regional and local news and craft implications for job applicability.
  • Utilize analytical skills to gather, organize, manipulate and interpret data.
  • Utilize department standards for common analyses (e.g., defining market areas, target markets and patient origin).
  • Utilize previous assignments and their findings to streamline projects.
  • Work with end users and developers to identify problems and propose solutions.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or a quantitative field of study (i.e., mathematics, physics, economics, sciences, finance, IT, etc.) required (An Associates degree in a similarly related field with 2 years of relevant experience will be considered)
  • Relevant experience in quantitative/computers, analytical/research and writing/presentation.
  • Experience using Onyx/lka or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, or other relevant software packages is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, writing/presentation/communication, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills and have meticulous attention to detail.
