Under the supervision of the Director of Community Engagement and as part of the community engagement team, creates, plans and implements fundraising and education and community outreach activities in support of Passavant Hospital Foundation with independent oversight for the education and outreach component.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision, to develop and oversee a comprehensive plan for the Foundation's community education and outreach program: Establish a budget and program schedule; Establish partnerships for a greater audience reach; Secure and negotiate with sites; Secure expert speakers; Arrange for CEUs; Ensure conflict of interest compliance; Ensure publicity; Ensure registration processes; Ensure a positive Foundation presence. 
  • Create, plan and execute a variety of special events and efforts to raise annual and capital funds. Events include two races, two golf outings, two dinners, two phone appeals, a concert, a United Way campaign and more.
  • Maintain prospect/donor database; accurately record donors' gifts. 
  • Generate regular monthly appeal letters, thank-you letters and fundraising/financial reports. 
  • Works cooperatively with Foundation staff; remains flexible and performs other foundation-related duties, as assigned.


  • B.S. or B.A. degree and/or demonstrated commensurate experience. 
  • Five+ years of experience in fundraising, event management.
  • Raisers Edge software experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and mathematical aptitude. 
  • Demonstrate ability/experience with MS Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher). Proficiency with Raiser's Edge software highly preferred. 
  • Excellent organizational skills. Excellent multi-tasking abilities. Ability to work well under deadline pressure. 
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively manage volunteers and volunteer committees.

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. 

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance or Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
