UPMC Insurance Services is hiring a full-time Senior, Financial Analyst to help support the Community HealthChoices (CHC) Finance team.  CHC is a government product that includes coverage for Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) for ongoing support of custodial nursing home residents and nursing home eligible older adults and people with disabilities who receive home and community-based services (HCBS).

CHC began operations at UPMC on January 1, 2018, as a result the Senior Financial Analyst will have the opportunity to be a part of launching a new insurance product.  The Senior Financial Analysis will be responsible for creating meaningful financial reports, assisting with the annual budgeting process, forecasting, creating presentations for executive leadership, and completing ad hoc requests.  The candidate will be able to use their analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and report on where CHC stands financially and how the product is working to improve its performance.  The analyst will have the opportunity to interact closely with executive leadership along with all those on the network and operations side of the product. The candidate must be an effective leader who can be counted on to make deadlines.

  • Act as a mentor for Financial Analysts or administrative staff.
  • Analyze complex financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
  • Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
  • Interpret financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions.
  • Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported.
  • Plan and conduct complex studies to determine cost of business activities. Recommend budget adjustments, and other cost improvement measures.
  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.


  • Bachelors degree in finance or related business field is required. 
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
  • CPA/MBA preferred. Microsoft office with emphasis on spreadsheet application required and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPA/MBA preferred.

Salary Range: $26.64 to $44.88 / hour
