Looking for a way to show off your event planning and organizational skills in a recruitment setting? An Employment Specialist position is available to support all of our nursing recruitment teams! This Employment Specialist position will assist with standard recruitment needs as well as the planning and executing of all nursing recruitment events both on campus and at national conferences



  • Assist the Project Analyst - GN recruitment with the preparation, coordination, and organization for all nursing recruitment events on campus
  • Work with the Project Analyst – GN recruitment to prepare for Talent Acquisition’s presence at national conferences
  • Conduct employment screening interviews for internal and external applicants, of all levels and types of positions, including management. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information received within the guidelines of professional recruitment in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Represent UPMC at external and internal functions (i.e., job fairs, UPMC HS sponsored events, etc.), provide the public with information about UPMC and career opportunities. 
  • Review and evaluate candidate applications and/or resume in terms of related experience, education and skill rejecting those not meeting the minimum qualifications on the approved job description. 
  • Comply, analyze and prepare reports on the computer and works on special projects as requested

Educational/Knowledge Requirements 


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required
  • One year of employment interviewing or related human resources experience required OR completion of the UPMC Summer Associates/Pittsburgh Fellows program preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required
  • Experience with applicant tracking or HRIS systems is preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance or Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
