Description


The Magee Research Institute is hiring a Senior Accountant to, under minimal supervision be responsible for the most complex accounting activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Acts a liaison for the department in meetings with management.
  • Acts as a mentor for accountants or administrative staff.
  • Develops administrative tasks, special projects and training programs as assigned.
  • Prepares analysis for annual audit.
  • Prepares and posts complex monthly journal entries.
  • Prepares general ledger account reconciliations for designated accounts. Proposes correcting entries.
  • Prepares reconciliation of actual to budget variance analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related business field is required.
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience required.
  • CPA/MBA preferred.
  • Not-for-profit experience and exposure to federal grants desirable
  • Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
