Description


UPMC Altoona is seeking an Intermediate level Accountant to compile and analyze financial information and prepare and maintain statements, reports and entries relating to all aspects of the Agency's financial system. This will be done in a manner consistent with efficiency, cost effectiveness and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist staff in the preparation and utilization of reports.
  • Endeavor to achieve and maintain quality and customer satisfaction in the delivery of services to internal/external customers.
  • Maintain and protect patient, client and Agency confidentiality.
  • Perform analysis of various financial reports and statements. Internal audit of statistics within the computer system Internal audit of financial statements and expense/revenue coding Cost analysis of services as deemed necessary Computation of Home Health return on revenue by payer
  • Perform external/internal reporting for companies responsible for: Participate and assist in Agency audits. Medicare cost report filings for VNA. IRS Form 990 filings.
  • Prepare and maintain statements, reports, and entries to records relating to all aspects of the Agency's financial system to include: Journal entries Statistical/data reports Monthly financial reports, invoices and statements Budgets Balance sheet and statement accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial narrative summary on a two-page report.
  • Prepare reports and assist in the monitoring of the accounting systems to include reconciliation for the following accounts. Cash Accounts receivable Accounts payable Payroll Prepaid and accrued expenses
  • Promote personal and co-worker safety during work duties.
  • Represent and participate in Agency professional and community activities as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related business field is required.
  • Minimum of one year of related work experience required.
  • CPA Preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Older Adult Protective Services Act
