UPMC is looking for an Associate Vice President, Telehealth Strategy Solutions to support the UPMC Health Plan. We are looking for a proven telehealth thought leader that has at least ten years of healthcare experience.  This will be a full time role located in downtown Pittsburgh, Pa.  


The AVP, Telehealth Strategic Solutions, is responsible for all activities related to the strategy and execution of telehealth initiatives at UPMC Health Plan, including telemedicine, patient remote monitoring and virtual visits.  The AVP, Telehealth Strategic Solutions provides direction and leadership to a team of  professionals to ensure the Health Plan's telehealth strategy is aligned with the goals and objectives established by senior management and well-integrated with telehealth initiatives across UPMC.


  • Serve as the business owner to manage the Health Plan's strategic interests with respect to telelhealth initiatives including (but not limited to) telemedicine, patient remote monitoring and virtual visits
  • Prioritize and implement future use cases for telehealth initiatives, including the development of processes and criteria for prioritization
    Develop and provide oversight to operational work flows as related to telehealth initiatives
  • Lead all telehealth development activity for the Health Plan including proposal scope development, business plan writing, project planning and resourcing.
  • Ensure processes, controls and reporting capabilities are in place to measure progress against Health Plan telehealth strategic objectives.
  • Ensure achievement of the Health Plan¿s telehealth business objectives in program development, members served, profitability, expenses, and/or customer satisfaction, where applicable.
  • Evaluate and prepare business plans and long-term strategic plans to articulate and further Health Plan telehealth objectives. Develop project resource projections and assess impact of those projections upon business objectives on an on-going basis.
  • Hold all departments accountable for providing necessary input/participation/data on a timely basis to ensure strategic objectives are met.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, training and maintenance of a competent staff to ensure successful Health Plan telehealth activity.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal UPMC clinical and operational areas along with external vendors/partners.   














  • Advance degree in business, healthcare, information systems or related area with 10-15 years of related experience is required.
  • Experience developing new businesses and/or leading business development initiatives at the senior executive level.
  • Prior experience with business development, operations, budgets, planning and strategy development is required.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to effectively interact with all levels of staff.
