UPMC Corporate Finance seeks a full-time Director of Financial Compliance to support our enterprise. This role is a significant component of our existing businesses as well as integration activities and supports outpost monitoring and reporting. A highly visible role, this position reports directly to the VP & Corporate Controller and will interface with executives across Finance and other divisions of our organization.

As Director of Financial Compliance, you will assist the VP & Corporate Controller in the implementation of processes, policies and system tools to identify, assess and monitor financial risk across UPMC. You will have oversight responsibility for UPMC's compliance with the rules under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 as well as OMB Circular A-133.  In addition, you will ensure compliance with donor restricted funds and grant accounting requirements.

  • Drive continuous process improvement.
  • Oversee coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring all A-133 audit issues are resolved and the Schedule of Federal Awards is in accordance with federal, state and other required supplementary schedules and information.
  • Oversight of System-wide Sarbanes-Oxley initiative including updating and refreshing of process documentation, quarterly testing of internal controls over financial reporting, process improvement and controls remediation.
  • Oversight of the accounting functions related to sponsored programs and other restricted funds, including monitoring, tracking and reporting for internal and external purposes.


  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or related business field required. 
  • Minimum of 7 years of related work experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years managerial or supervisory experience required.
  • CPA/MBA or equivalent advance degree preferred.
  • Strong management and communication skills and an in-depth knowledge of GAAP
  • Requires Sarbanes-Oxley implementation experience and strong process improvement focus
