UPMC Talent Acquisition (TA) is seeking a Director of TA Service Delivery to lead, develop, and mentor our thriving team of recruitment professionals who hire a variety of Clinical and Allied Health positions at our more 40 hospitals and numerous outpatient sites.

Partnering closely with two peer Directors of TA Service Delivery who support recruitment efforts for other divisions of our enterprise, and under the general direction of the Vice President of Talent Acquisition and HR Innovation, you will be responsible for the leadership and day-to-day management of work for your assigned recruitment service delivery teams. As Director, you will continuously lead and develop the Recruitment Leads and Managers reporting to you and ensuring that the recruitment teams continuously evolve to meet the needs of the organization. Your focus will extend to develop and implement recruitment strategies that are rooted in customer and candidate experience. Additionally, you will support TA account management to ensure successful implementation, communication, and partnership with our Business Unit Human Resources partners.

  • Actively recruit for vacancies within the assigned recruitment teams as needed.
  • Build and present a diverse pipeline of candidates that meet and exceed UPMC's core competencies.
  • Collaborate with TA's leadership team to drive exceptional team performance.
  • Construct strategic recruitment agendas and lead business planning meetings to prepare for key recruitment activities by setting recruitment strategy, creating or refining processes and procedures, resource planning, and agreeing to team roles and responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all customers and team members.
  • Develop and mentor recruitment staff and support the growth of recruitment leads and managers.
  • Ensure that models of integrated inclusion and dignity and respect are fully encompassed in all aspects of recruitment service delivery.
  • Identify and communicate trends in the applicant pool.
  • In partnership with operational and human resource leadership, define strategic recruitment imperatives for UPMC to support the evolving talent needs of the organization.
  • Lead and manage the daily work flow and recruitment activities for multiple teams of recruitment professionals.
  • Manage and lead projects that support organization-wide transformation initiatives. Contribute to the development of the change management strategy to support implementation of these initiatives. Participate in cross-functional and/or cross-Business Unit project teams or tasks.
  • Provide strategic leadership, direct and oversee system wide job family recruitment activities including recruitment process and project management, development and maintenance of internal and external partnerships and development of selection systems.
  • Understand and communicate current vacancies across the enterprise and recruitment priorities.

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
  • Masters degree preferred, but not required
  • 7 plus years of human resources experience
  • 5 years of recruitment experience required
  • 4 years of prior management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute recruitment programs and processes to support the business. 
  • The ability to execute recruitment initiatives across a complex organization.
  • Excellent consulting skills, deep human resource/recruitment knowledge/expertise, customer relationship management skills, conflict management skills, business acumen, learning agility, independent judgment and a high work ethic.
  • Proven success at developing strong trusting relationships in order to influence others, gain support, and achieve results.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication that is clear, well-organized, and demonstrates an understanding of audience needs; through genuine and positive communication.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • PHR, SPHR certification/SHRM-CP, SPHR-SCP certification or UPMC HCI Strategic HR Business Partner certification required within 6 months of hire
