Ensure STAT MedEvac medical personnel and medical operations systems are providing safe and effective care to the excellence standards set by medical direction and executive leadership. Facilitate medical operations case review process. Assist in the planning, organization and control of quality assessment and improvement of medical operations. Collect and report data, monitor and report outcomes in collaboration with multiple disciplines. Performs audits from medical records, computerized data, observations and other methods. During routine operations, the Performance & QI Coord is expected to function as a flight nurse or flight paramedic and to adhere to the responsibilities of that position.

  • Adheres to all clinical responsibilities of a flight nurse or flight paramedic.   • Function as expert within clinical specialty by certification. Tailor responses to individual situations based on principles of effective feedback. Identify and communicate learning needs to appropriate manager. Take action to improve knowledge, skills and performance based on feedback or on self-identified developmental needs and provide similar feedback to co-workers. Prior to performing new or challenging skills, request assistance and reviews relevant policies and procedures. Assume responsibility for complex assignments; view problems as challenges and help peers to do likewise.
  • Present information regarding current performance improvement activities. Utilize quality data and observations from case review trends to identify improvement opportunities. Align CEM � STAT MedEvac quality processes to industry initiatives and regulatory standards e.g. GAMUT and CAMTS. Collaborate with multiple appropriate disciplines in order to achieve quality outcomes and facilitate loop closure. Collect & compile data in a manner that will be easily understood & distributed for appropriate evaluation. Participates as directed in any clinical research projects being conducted. Review, modify and/or develop various audit procedures and collaborate with leadership to ensure execution e.g. narcotic audit process.
  • Role model assertive and professional communication strategies and hold peers accountable for similar behavior. Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities and resolve problems related to patients, equipment, and supplies. Communicate appropriately with other team members to discuss quality improvement strategies. Assist in facilitating medical operations team meetings. Participate in special project development as designated by executive leadership.
  • Utilize nursing process and/or similar academic approaches in evaluation of the data related to the care of patients including routine chart quality audit to provide feedback to relevant stakeholders for education plan modification, protocol and policy development and operational improvements. As above, ensure organization maintains and utilize standards of care and recommend modifications to achieve specific outcomes according to the needs of the patient. Strictly adhere to all policies and practices relative to patient care and organization related information and recommend changes as needed. Comply with safety policies and procedures. Ensure equipment malfunctions are reported and trended. Identify when department/base standards/norms are violated and collaborate with respective leadership to correct. In collaboration with the Medical Operations Team participates in all flight crew clinical competency evaluations. In collaboration with the Medical Operations Team participates in all educational sessions, whether on-site or via video tele-conference. Protects the privacy of all patient information in accordance with STAT MedEvac Policies and Practices, as required by State and Federal Law.


  • Minimum three (3) years experience as a flight crew member with: 
    • strong interpersonal communication skills
    • professional appearance and manner
    • demonstrated superior organizational skills. 
  • Knowledge of clinical protocols, policies, procedures and CAMTS standards required. 
  • Ability to manage conflict resolution. 
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment. 
  • Must have a willingness to support management decisions and assist with implementation of program goals and objectives. 
  • Baccalaureate degree in related field is preferred. 
  • Prior management experience is preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
NIMS100, NIMS200, HIMS700 and NIHSS required within 90 days of hire. PHTLS, TNCC, ITLS or ATLS required upon hire.
