The UPMC McKeesport Residency Program is seeking a board certified General Internal Medicine Physician with experience teaching residents or have completed a faculty development fellowship to work in the Community Medicine, Inc. department.

From our surgeons in the operating room, to our nurses at the bedside, our staff is committed to excellence in the delivery of health care services to our patients.  The hospital offers 231 beds for acute care patients, 56 beds for patients who need skilled nursing care and recently opened an Acute detox unit with rehab that has 27 beds.  It is also the only hospital-based rehab and detox unit in the region.


UPMC McKeesport is an accredited Stage Six institution in Electronic Health Record utilization, one of 152 hospitals worldwide to achieve this level of implementation as recognized by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. What would I be responsible for/expect in this position?

  • Teaching residents in both the inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Foster and develop an educational environment conducive to educating residents in the ACGME competencies
  • Maintain an environment of inquiry and scholarship with an active research component/submittal for publication
  • Facilitate and participate in organized clinical discussions, rounds, journal clubs and conference
  • Regular – Full Time status
  • Daylight shift with a call-in rotation
  • Located at 1321 Fifth Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132
  • Current Staff:  1 Program Director, 1 Associate Director, 3 Faculty


What would qualify me for the faculty position?

  • ABIM certification
  • PA Medical License and DEA
  • Highly preferred 3 – 5 years teaching residents/strong interest in teaching or have completed a faculty development fellowship
