Description

Purpose:
Provide clerical and general support to the Corporate Benefits staff. Perform various human resource and benefit administrative functions and clerical tasks, including responding to inquiries regarding benefits, office procedures and services.

Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming calls and refers inquiries to appropriate staff. Respond to basic and general inquiries concerning benefits, materials and services from employees.
  • Open and distribute Benefits mail. Distribute incoming faxes.
  • Oversee office operations, which include ordering benefits supplies and materials. Ensure an adequate supply is available when needed. Maintain unit equipment and service contracts. Ensure the office space is functional, clean and usable for events and daily business.
  • Prepare and mail enrollment packets for new hires and status changes. Mail enrollment confirmations. File Benefits paperwork. Maintain adequate stock of surplus packets.
  • Prepare and mails COBRA enrollment packets, grace period notices and termination notices
  • Prepare tuition assistance paperwork for processing. File processed paperwork.
  • Prepare, coordinate and maintain an adequate supply of all benefit materials by sorting, copying, stabling, filing, etc. Assist with typing and proofreading as needed.
  • Provide clear and concise information to management and staff. Assist other staff in coordinating meetings, projects, preparation of materials and scheduling of the Employee Service Center room.
  • Provide direction and guidance to walk-ins to the Employee Service Center
  • Provide good public relations and customer service for the organization. Maintain clean, organized work area that is professional in appearance for walk-in staff.
  • Work on special projects and miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of clerical or benefits related experience required.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based programs, such as Excel and Word required.
  • Familiarity with Peoplesoft is preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation required.

Salary Range: $14.12 to $22.16
