Description

Are you understanding, compassionate, and organized? UPMC Horizon is currently seeking a Flex Full-Time Radiology Associate! This individual will perform general clerical duties including answering telephones, scheduling patients, processing films and functions required for patient film release and return.

 

The hours for this position are 2pm-10pm, with rotating days.  This office also operates on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete patient registration for lab and radiology exams. Order lab and radiology procedures.
  • Complete this process in reverse when films are returned.
  • Document images being released to include a released data sheet and mailing if necessary.
  • Employ cost conscience techniques.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff, co-workers, supervisors and others.
  • Exhibit integrity, courtesy, and respect for others.
  • Maintain confidentiality of hospital and department information with no infractions.
  • Maintain professional, pleasant and effective communications both internally and externally.
  • Present self in a positive manner reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
  • Print images or prepare CDs as needed.
  • Promote the hospital's image and maintains a positive and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital's reputation as a health care center.
  • Receive patients, answers telephones, prepares patients.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Courses in typing and office procedures preferred.
  • One to two years experience preferred.
  • Must possess good oral and written skills, must be able to communicate with hospital contacts both on the telephone and directly, and effectively communicate with all age groups, populations, and individuals within the hospital.
  • Must become familiar with the hospital computer system.
  • Access to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the nurse.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    Employee must obtain required CPR/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications within 1 year of hire/transfer
