UPMC Emergency Medicine serves as a recruitment and staffing resource for partner hospitals, provides continuing education opportunities to emergency health care providers, and runs a Prehospital Care Program that combines the educational resources of the University of Pittsburgh with the clinical expertise of UPMC.

 

UPMC Emergency Medicine has partnered with Uniontown Hospital, to hire anAssociate Chief of Emergency Services.  The employee hired will be a full-time UPMC employee working alongside Uniontown Hospital employees on a full-time basis. 

 

Uniontown Hospital is in Uniontown, PA, where the surrounding community offers a great lifestyle with plentiful outdoor activities, a low cost of living, and the amenities of Pittsburgh and Morgantown are easily accessible. This 224-bed community hospital sees 53,400 patients annually and has a newly renovated computerized Emergency Department. This site is staffed daily with 55 hours of physician coverage, an average of 20 hours of advanced practice provider coverage and is supported by a hospitalist program.


What would I be responsible for/expect in this position?

  • Aid the Chair and Chief in achieving the Clinical, educational and research mission and objectives of the Uniontown Hospital Emergency Department
  • Ensuring the delivery of quality care to all patients as needed and to ensure that the Emergency Department aligns with all Hospital needs and mission
  • S/he will work to have all in Department comply with standards and regulations set forth by The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies and the Hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws Rules, Regulations, Policies and Procedures
  • Perform duties and responsibilities set forth in the Hospital's Medical Staff Bylaws
  • In collaboration with the Chair and Chief, provide leadership by developing and implementing strategic plan (vision, goals, and strategic direction) and establishing organizational priorities
  • Will serve as needed when Chief is unavailable

Qualifications

What would qualify me for the position?

  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Board prepared or certified in Emergency Medicine
  • Appointment to the Hospital Active Medical Staff
  • Appointment to the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine Faculty
  • Proven administrative capabilities in leading a department-related program
  • Proven commitment to clinical research and teaching
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
