Description

UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is hiring a full-time Manager, Ambulatory Services, at their main campus in Lawrenceville. This position will be working the daylight shift, Monday through Friday.

Purpose:

Under the guidance of the Director /Administrator , manages operating and capital budgets, organizes and directs staff, develops and implements policies, and monitors service quality and productivity of ambulatory services /department which may include outreach areas. Administers all hospital, UPP and department policies. Ensures compliance with all state, federal and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings for the purpose of dissemination of information and monitoring employee concerns, needs and suggestions
  • Coordinate training for new employees and assists with orientation of new employees.
  • Create a work environment conducive to productive performance and job satisfaction. Ensures open communication, sensitivity to personal problems and recognition of performance
  • Create/coordinate employee schedules for various service areas of clinic.
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements essential to maintenance of FACT Accreditation for the BMT area.
  • Ensure that all testing services are appropriately licensed for the level of testing being performed and are in compliance with all appropriate federal and state regulations and ensure that all quality control test and procedures are conducted, documented and meet the necessary standards. Assures compliance with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (OSHA< CLIA< JCAHO< DOH, etc.) Provide monthly statistics and QA items for reporting. Monitor critical values
  • Establish processes to ensure continuity of care for patients evaluated and treated by clinicians, including timely communication with patients and referring physicians.
  • In conjunction with medical management personnel, assists in establishing and implementing policy related to operations including, but not limited to, professional licensure, registration and/or certification; risk management; and staff and patient safety.
  • In conjunction with senior management, responsible for developing operating and capital budget and ensuring that the department meets budget goals.
  • Manage all human-resources functions of the department, including hiring and terminating of employees in accordance with CHP policy and identifying educational needs of the staff including assessment of competencies and coordinate training of personnel as necessary.
  • Oversee all aspects of the practice plan (professional fee), hospital (technical fee) revenue cycle as well as departmental research or grant revenue, including charge lag and coding functions ensuring timely loading of fees into various billing systems.
  • Provide follow up for deficiencies identified through proficiency testing programs and ensures corrective action plans are in place.
  • Utilize CQI principles to continuously assess operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of individual department operations.
  • Work with UPP/CHP to problem solve issues with physician credentialing.

Qualifications

- BSN or related Bachelors degree required. - Masters degree in a related health care field preferred. - 5 years of clinical nursing experience required; - 3 years of prior experience in clinical specialty, and/or related clinical experience preferred. - Three years progressive management experience in an office practice required. - Strong computer skills preferred. - Prior management experience preferred

  • Act 31 Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Registered Nurse
