Psychiatry department studying schizophrenia and related disorders. Liaison with the Medical examiner’s office to obtain human brain tissue to facilitate our research and contribute to the NIH Brain and tissue Repository

This position is grant funded.

Assist in the execution of research protocols and services.

  • Assist with recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
  • Maintain accurate documentation.
  • Interact with a team to dissect, process, store, and organize brain tissue 
  • Learn various histological preparation techniques and how to conduct immunocytochemical analysis of brain tissue for research projects that focus on the neural circuitry of the prefrontal cortex and interconnected regions
  • Gain valuable experience in laboratory techniques as well as reagent and solution preparation for ongoing studies


Bachelors degree required preferably in psychology or related field. Familiarity with computers and common software packages required. Prior related work experience in a research setting preferred. Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $14.12 to $22.16 / hour
