The Manager, Onboarding is responsible for strategic leadership, direction and coordination of all system-wide onboarding programs. This position is responsible for developing and executing strategies that align these services to UPMC business needs and are rooted in customer and candidate experience. The Manager, Onboarding will work closely with HR leadership to ensure all onboarding programs, related vendors, processes, and project initiatives continually evolve, support, and deliver against business requirements.   • Establish and foster a professional climate dedicated to: supporting the mission and goals of the organization, developing talent, and creating a high performing team. Responsible for TA vendor management, ensuring vendor performance, working directly with account managers, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead multiple, concurrent projects in support of the department and participate on multi-functional, dedicated project teams assembled to identify solutions. Conduct performance evaluations in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding about all regulatory requirements and partner with the HR Regulatory committee and HR Compliance department to ensure all onboarding processes are compliant. Lead the development and execution of a strategic plan for process improvement (identify opportunities for improvement in processes, complete analysis, and propose initiatives).
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide overall process expertise and serve as a thought leader to manage and execute identified programs. Manage and execute world class onboarding programs and effectively liaise with internal business partners (HRIS, Employee Health, Human Resources, Learning and Development) to execute a candidate and customer centric process.
  • Serve as a role model of service by providing quality HR services that meet customer demands, proactive in scope, and accessible in nature. Consistently deliver well thought out, sound business decisions. Select, train, and supervise the Talent Acquisition Onboarding team. Actively developing and mentoring staff to achieve their potential and meet customer needs.


  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required.
  • Five years of related experience including a minimum of three years of process improvement, project management, or strategy development experience.
  • Two years of progressive leadership experience required.
  • Masters degree is preferred Strong management, detail, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required.
  • Proven ability to build strategic alliances with business partners required.
  • Proven record of development and implementation of complex business processes required Oracle/PeopleSoft, Taleo experience preferred.

Salary Range: $30.89 to $52.76
