Description

Purpose:
The Disbursements Analyst, Procure to Pay is responsible for all disbursement functions to ensure prompt and accurate payments to UPMC suppliers.  This role reviews AP disbursement processes, policies and procedures.  The role also reviews internal controls and supports organization initiatives to meet the business and operational goals.

This position is Monday through Friday during daylight hours at the US Steel Tower.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively suggest and work on process improvements and automation
  • Assist in business process improvement training as needed.
  • Complete analysis and propose initiatives
  • Continuous process improvements over key areas of accountability
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in processes and service
  • Manage Accounts Payable disbursement control reports, including check control report, outstanding checks and various banking reports.
  • Oversees the relationship with UPMC's bank and Accounts Payable.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.
  • Prepare and present project status reports as needed.
  • Process and answer inquiries from vendors and business partners regarding pay.
  • Support 1099 tax reporting and escheatment processes for Accounts Payable.
  • Support daily check and ACH payment cycles according to UPMC policy.
  • Support the implementation of operational efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

  • One of the following combinations of education and experience is required:
    • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field and three years of work experience in business process design and optimization 
    • Masters degree in a related field and three years of general business experience.  
  • Strong procurement, sourcing and payables skills required
  • Must demonstrate a functional understanding of project management tools, methods, and resource allocation and other project management functions
  • Professional certifications (CPM, PPM, CPSM, APICS) a benefit
  • Other Skills Requirements: 
    • Ability to work under pressure and in tense situations
    • Ability to perform mathematical calculations utilizing PC applications
    • Ability to establish priorities and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
    • Courtesy in dealing with all customers is required
    • Must be able to provide clear consistent direction and guidance to other departments within UPMC.
