Description

The Project Director is an integral part of the Division of Health Economics (DOHE) management team.  The Project Director provides leadership over DOHE operational functions including creating and coordinating major projects and initiatives, managing workflow, and customer expectation management.  This individual will also build relationships with other departments throughout UPMC in order to streamline and coordinate DOHE work.


Responsibilities:
  • Actively participate in the coordination and implementation of such improvement strategies and plans.
  • Assist in recruitment of analyst staff.
  • Assist in the assessment of UPMC operations and make recommendations regarding opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop operational improvement strategies and related action plans.
  • Perform fact-finding and analyses related to operational initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Provide oversight/supervision of analyst staff on complex projects as requested.
  • Research and summarize industry and environmental trends as well as other regulatory requirements/issues as requested.
  • Supports the Senior Director, Project Management in carrying out her day-to-day responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field is required
  • Masters in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years progressively increasing analytical and/or operational experience in a corporate/professional environment, preferably in healthcare
  • Managerial experience preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines concurrently
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the UPMC
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
