The incumbent is responsible for the coordination of consumer services and plans. Also, he/she is responsible for the specific duties listed below, when directed by supervisory staff and will complete supervisory responsibilities, under the direction of the Director, in the program supervisor's absence.


  • Assists Program Supervisor with applicable licensing visits. Oversees vehicle maintenance, inspections and monthly vehicle logs
  • Assists supervisor with maintaining employee training information and files for current and new employees. Assists supervisor with interviewing potential employees and completing reference checks and new hire paperwork. Assists in orientation/training for new staff under the direction of the Program Supervisor.
  • Assists with transporting consumers to scheduled appointments and activities as well as performing direct care responsibilities and maintaining a caseload when necessary
  • Completes documentation to include end of the month statistics for population summaries and quality assurance reports.
  • Completes necessary documentation for admissions and discharges
  • Conducts and assists in planning therapeutic activities/groups
  • Consults with families and consumers to secure background information and discuss problems
  • Coordinates staff schedule for 24-hr/7day coverage, when necessary, facilitates and mandates staff schedule changes to meet program needs
  • Encourages consumers to participate in their treatment program, giving them reassurance and support as needed
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with consumers, members of the treatment team, and other mental health professionals
  • Monitors consumer charts and goal books to ensure proper order and current updates
  • Participates in the on-call rotation
  • Reviews incident reports and coordinates follow-up, may sign reports in supervisor's absence. Reviews accuracy of time sheets and makes adjustments as necessary, may approve time sheets in supervisor's absence
  • Reviews program budget on a monthly basis and practices fiscal conservatism when ordering supplies
  • Supervises and instructs counselors


  • Bachelors degree in social science field and (1) one year related experience. 
  • Will consider any equivalent combination of experience and training as approved by County OBH Program Director Extensive knowledge of crisis intervention techniques 
  • Extensive knowledge of theories, principles, and techniques related to services provided 
  • Familiarity with medication monitoring practices 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Driver's License
  • Older Adult Protective Services Act
