UPMC Centers for Rehab Services is currently hiring a full-time OT Team Leader for their Monroeville Oxford Drive office, located in Monroeville, PA. The candidate will work Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The ideal candidate should have experience in OT Neuro and have a management background. The candidate should also be comfortable with program development and marketing.  

The incumbent is responsible for daily supervision of therapy services within a given clinical service line(s). Provides therapy evaluation and treatment utilizing advanced clinical skills in a specialty area.


  • Appropriately requests and actively reports objective feedback to the Facility Director regarding department performance and emergency situations. Actively supports and implements the organization directives of the management team.
  • Assists the Facility Director in the supervision of the daily operations of patient care services in their respective area of responsibility. This may include; addressing daily staffing needs, developing staffing schedules, review and approval of time off requests, participating in the interviewing/selection process for their respective area of responsibility.
  • Communicates patient's status to the referring physician and other health care team members.
  • Completes necessary charge and statistical information to accurately reflect the service rendered to the patient.
  • Completes performance evaluations of direct reports as requested in a thorough and timely manner. Assists the Facility Director in the disciplinary process as appropriate. Delegates performance reviews to Senior Staff appropriately
  • Maintains professional license/registration through steady pursuit and participation in appropriate continuing education and professional development opportunities to satisfy requirements for licensure/registation renewal.
  • Maintains written documentation for all occupational therapy services rendered including documentation of initial assessment, follow-up visits, and discharge summary consistent with department standards. Co-signs occupational therapy assistant documentation biweekly.
  • Participates in program development. Serves on organizational committees as an active and contributing member as requested.
  • Participates in the organization's clinical education program by providing clinical supervision of students completing internships from various universities as requested.
  • Performs occupational therapy assessment, reassessment and treatment and supervises occupational therapy assistants in the treatment of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients referred by a physician to the clinic. Develops plan of care including goals and treatment plan in accordance with physician referral, nature of injury/illness and results of occupational therapy assessment. Modifies or adjusts plan of care based on patient's response to treatment and/or changes in patient's status. Works with occupational therapy assistants to adjust patient programs as patient status changes.
  • Provides verbal and/or written home instructions to patient and/or family members when applicable.
  • Rotates through selected treatment areas when necessary to facilitate organizational needs.
  • Schedules patients to achieve and maintain a level of productivity which meets or exceeds the standard established for the facility by the organization while ensuring delivery of quality patient care.
  • Serves as Facility Director or program coordinator in the absence of the incumbent.
  • Serves as an educational resource for management of patients with a variety of medical diagnoses for junior occupational therapy staff members. Promotes ongoing staff development through in-services and/or individualized instruction and support.



  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience preferred
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in a specialty area preferred
  • Previous clinical teaching experience preferred
  • Marketing experience and ability preferred
  • Six months experience with Centers for Rehab Services preferred
  • Two or more years supervisory/management experience in a health care setting preferred

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
