Description

Purpose:
Obtain quality Electrocardiograms, Holters application, and Event recordings.  Document rhythms on Holter recordings and apply monitors for Central Monitoring and maintain equipment and supplies along with front desk activities and light clerical duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in student teaching and orientation.
  • Complete daily transcriptions.
  • Demonstrates individualized care for each patient.
  • Light clerical duties.
  • Obtain quality EKG's while following hospital and patient protocols.
  • Participate in a performance improvement program and implement methods of Improvement.
  • Recognize and documents all patient information related to patient care.
  • Take responsibility for personal performance improvement.
  • Transcription of cardiology services reports.
  • Utilize the Cardiology and Management System, Information System effectively to ensure accurate departmental data, such as reports , statistics and patient information.

 

Qualifications

  • High School graduate. Completion of a Medical Assistant program, Cardiology Technician programs or 1 year supervised training in a Cardiology Department. 
  • Microsoft word, Transcription, Basic and Advance arrhythmia class through a continuing education course with documentation of completion and 1 year of supervised Stress Test and Holter scanning in a Cardiology department.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
    CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Act 31 Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
