As Staff Associate,you will serve as strategic support staff to Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI) Senior Leadership in all areas of responsibility.  You will support the work of the CEO through knowledge and data management, project leadership, coordination, development and evaluation of support staff in MWRI and Foundation.  Additionally, you will plan, execute and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes comprehensive management of a multi-disciplinary teams and/or management of the execution and coordination of a multi-center projects, inclusive of pre- and post- award activities, assuring compliance with external regulatory agencies, funding agencies reporting requirements. Ideal candidates will possess strong organizational skills and effective communication skills to interact with clinical site personnel, funders and research and medical staff. This position will require some travel.

  • Complete any other special projects as assigned
  • Coordinate the completion of multiple tasks by evaluating the issues, developing and implementing a work plan and summarizing and presenting the outcomes
  • Create communication and publications
  • Explore outside sources of funding, such as grants. to reduce dependence on operating dollars, and serves on grant writing teams as needed
  • Maintain appropriate contacts with outside organizations as well as internal system departments
  • Manage activities associated with multiple projects or part of a larger program
  • Perform statistical analyses, reporting and trending of issues. Explain results of analysis to non-technical internal customers and at times, senior management 
  • Responsible for the organization and execution of research protocols with the proper allocation of resources, budget, milestones, deliverables and adherence to research protocol requirements
  • Perform responsibilities directly related to the management or general business operations of MWRI (i.e., supporting Executive leadership). Strategy & Resource Management (planning and initiation) - in support of the project sponsor, is responsible for multiple clinical research projects 
  • Will direct and monitor the work efforts on a daily basis, focusing on scope, budget, quality, schedule, risks, issues and resources needed to complete the work
  • Provide status reports to the Senior Vice President as required/requested.
  • Serves as an active member of the MWRI Senior Leadership Team.


  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field required  
  • Masters degree preferred 
  • 5 years business experience 
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs required. 
  • Strong analytical and organizational ability necessary to identify technical resources and provide effective administrative and personnel management in assigned area. 
  • Interpersonal ability necessary to deal effectively with all levels of staff  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Technician and professional skills in finance and data management  
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Proficiency in various PC applications 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision 
  • Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to work with diverse leaders across the system

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
