Description

For the experienced nurse who wishes to broadly impact patient care and clinical practice as a leader and change agent, the Clinician role is an ideal step forward.

UPMC Northwest is currently hiring a Full-Time Clinician for the Behavioral Health department at our Seneca, PA location. The Clinician in this position will work a Monday-Friday primarily daylight schedule, with occasional other shifts depending on unit needs. Candidate must be motivated, dedicated to this leadership position and unit. Candidate must desire to lead change, work on specific projects, and have initiative to work independently as well as part of a team.

All staff in this department are trained on two distinct programs, Extended Acute Care (EAC) Unit and Acute Unit. The EAC is a longer term program for patients with more chronic symptoms. The program is recovery focused and the goal is for community reintegration. The Acute program is a more traditional acute care adult behavioral health unit. Treatment is comprised of individual 1:1 sessions and therapeutic groups. The BH services area works in collaboration with UPMC WPIC. This is a 28 bed unit, ages 18 and above. This department has numerous Cameo of Caring winners, received the Daisy Team award, and the unit has a very active staff-run Improvement Committee and excellent patient satisfaction rates.

Clinicians work in collaboration with their Unit Director, management, and other caregivers to coordinate clinical activities for each shift, develop and educate staff on the unit, and improve the nursing process. Clinicians inspire superior performance on their unit through example, not only by exhibiting their own expertise in patient care assignments, but also by providing ongoing consultation and education for their team, including in-service demonstrations of new devices, equipment, and policy changes.

As Clinician, you will be a positive force on the unit, a relationship builder who promotes open communication amongst caregivers and forges connections between colleagues, patients, and patients’ families. You will also directly contribute to a culture of nursing excellence by participating in the selection, training, development, and evaluation of our staff.

The Clinician is a valued step in the UPMC nursing career ladder, with opportunities for advancement and continued growth.
