UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Program Manager to help support the Clinical Training and Development Department in the areas of health coach training and lifestyle interventions for its downtown Pittsburgh location at the US Steel Tower. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position.

Program Manager will primarily implement, manage, and evaluate projects and initiatives related to health coach training and lifestyle interventions. The responsibilities include strategic planning; executive presentations; development of detailed project plans to advance and achieve goals; coordination with internal UPMC departments and external stakeholders; program evaluation and reporting; marketing and communications related to health coach training and lifestyle interventions; cultivating strategic relationships; teaching health coach curriculum courses; and provision of innovative and creative solutions to problems. The Program Manager will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare environment, challenges, and opportunities and successfully translate complex ideas and analyses into action plans. The individual in this position will be an independent thinker, exceptional problem solver, able to successfully navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and create processes that improve delivery of Clinical Training & Development programs. The Program Manager will leverage project management skills, serve as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting all areas, and interact with all levels of the Health System to answer questions and resolve issues as they arise. The position requires an exceptional team collaborator and contributor who utilizes rapport to establish seamless connections with professionals at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage aspects of MyHealth Coach Academy and Lifestyle Interventions to ensure that all aspects of the Clinical Training and Development Department’s programs/ projects are successful and that all impacted departments are aware of progress/updates.
  • Design and develop new project plans for new programs/projects as needed, including all policies and procedures, program outlines, training materials, workflows, and marketing materials.
  • Summarize and interpret training and lifestyle intervention results and develop detailed reports for stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Serve as a UPMC MyHealth Coach Academy faculty member, delivering health coach curriculum courses related to area of expertise.
  • As relevant, manage, in part or in full, relevant staff to aid in project implementation for health coach training and lifestyle interventions.
  • Meet project plan deadlines and change tasks quickly as business needs dictate (these deadlines may require occasional extended daily work hours as necessary).
  • Work with various internal and external customers to provide relevant deliverables. This may include developing and negotiating contracts as needed with UPMCHP legal department.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of and competence in the use of behavior modification/ health coaching skills and knowledge of lifestyle interventions for weight, tobacco, nutrition, physical activity, stress, and others as indicated.

 

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in health administration or related health field preferred; or Bachelors degree with demonstrated successful experience in clinical program administration and/or other health related discipline.
  • A minimum of five to seven years of applicable experience in health care delivery is required. 3 years in health care insurance preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; Management experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Financial analytic skills preferred.
  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Must be able to interact and negotiate with all facets of the wellness industry.
  • Excellent planning, documentation, organizational, analytical and problem solving skills are also required. 
  • Candidate must demonstrate leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to map re-engineering processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with and take direction from Senior Management.
  • Desire to continue upward progression within organization.
