Description

Purpose:
This instructor position will assist the CTC Coordinator in the planning and execution of all American Heart Association BLS Programs. They will be responsible for direct classroom instruction of students enrolled in AHA BLS and First Aid Programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer standardized examinations as scheduled.
  • Begin and end all classes on time. Under no circumstances should classes be rescheduled without the approval of the CTC Coordinator.
  • Conduct your class in accordance with all Center, State, Federal and AMA training standards.
  • Cover all of the material assigned by the CTC Coordinator in accordance with the AHA Guidelines. If you are unable to cover all of the material, inform the CTC Coordinator as early as possible to assure that other arrangements can be made.
  • Develop and administer regular quizzes and homework assignments.
  • Grade all quizzes, examinations, and student assignments in a timely manner.
  • Maintain student and class records in a standardized manner.
  • Monitor the students' progress and provide reasonable supplemental instruction and/or individual tutoring if students are having difficulty with the course content. Inform the Academic Coordinator when individual students are failing to make satisfactory academic progress.
  • Preview all examinations prior to administration.
  • Provide students with constructive feedback, direction, and counseling.
  • Serve as a role model for professional attitudes and behavior.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • AHA CPR Instructor Certification 
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of personal computers.  
  • Strong knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheets required.  
  • Demonstration of excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstration of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstration of a professional manner and appearance.  
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Basic Life Support Instructor
