Description

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is seeking a full-time Senior Practice Manager to support the Magee Women's Specialty Center - UPMC Hamot!

 

The main office is located at UPMC Hamot Women's Hospital, with the Senior Practice Manager also managing the 5050 West Ride Road office and the North Pearl Street office in North East, PA. Travel to all three offices is required.

 

The Senior Practice Manager manages all operational aspects of the practice sites to ensure quality patient care. Duties include, but are not limited to, managing staff schedules, hiring and training new employees, managing all financial aspects of the office sites, and managing patient management systems.

 

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of EPIC and EpicCare systems, as well as have the ability to handle a very fast-paced office setting with several providers and an overall staff of 35.

 


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in physician relations as necessary.
  • Assist in the due diligence, practice valuations, contract negotiations, and staffing as required.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and peers through oral and written communications.
  • Develop and maintain a patient-centric culture, centered around patient arrival and follow-up activities in line with the consumerism initiatives, if applicable.
  • Develop strategic plans for practices.
  • Ensure appropriate and high quality staffing through the strategic placement of office coordinators, office managers, and practice managers.
  • Ensure compliance with all UPMC policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge initiatives as it relates to the operation of the practices.
  • Monitor and meet practice specific benchmarks, inclusive of point of service and scheduling (inclusive of template management for timely patient access), if applicable.
  • Monitor practice operations to identify areas for improvement, expansion of services, and potential new market areas.
  • Oversee and assist in the recruitment of staff and new practices.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of current procedures and plans with Office/Practice Manager and Physician to develop and implement new, more efficient systems and procedures as required to improve office operations.
  • Serve as liaison for renovations, construction, and building utilization with UPMC and outside construction services.
  • Serve as liaison to various UPMC departments and resources.
  • Supervise and oversee practice budgets.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Business Administration AND three years of office management experience, including one year in a health care organization.
  • OR Master's Degree in Health or Business Administration AND one year of office management experience in a health care organization.
  • OR Associate's Degree in Health or Business Administration AND eight years of office management experience, including one year in a health care organization.
  • OR High School Diploma AND eight years of office management experience, including one year in a health care organization.
  • EPIC experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office setting highly preferred.
