We’re looking for experienced Caregiver to travel throughout Bedford County and provide excellent in-home care.   This is a full-time position.  Mileage reimbursement provided.

Provide personal care, household management, and companionship services as designated in the customer's plan of care. This will be done in a manner consistent with efficiency, cost effectiveness and regulatory compliance.

  • Assist customers with: Personal care activities such as bathing, mouth care, hair care, nail care, skin care, shaving, dressing, and toileting. Provide medication reminders to help ensure clients take their medications at the appropriate times. 
  • Positioning, application of simple braces and/or equipment, transfers, ambulation, and previously established exercise programs.  
  • Light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming and dusting, straightening rooms, washing dishes, making the bed, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, showers, tubs, and toilets, emptying the trash, and cleaning the kitchen sink, countertops, floors, and appliances.  
  • Wash and dry laundry, iron and fold clothes, and put them in their proper place. 
  • Perform grocery shopping and complete errands. Make grocery lists, clip coupons, and perform shopping. Pick up prescriptions or other necessary supplies. Provide care for houseplants and pets. Sorting/reading mail, writing correspondence, and paying bills.
  • Assist customers with: Conduct basic menu planning, prepare and serve meals, monitor stored foods for freshness, and assist with feeding as necessary.
  • Conduct companionship activities with customers to improve their quality of life and assure their safety. Escort customers to social or recreational activities. Engage the customer in reading, playing games, watching television, or simple conversation. 
  • Provide transportation to customers in order for them to attend various appointments or activities. 
  • Perform specialized tasks as directed on the customer's Plan of Care. Remind customer to take medications and assist as necessary. Simple catheter care-external foley (emptying bag and cleaning). Ostomy Care (assist with appliance, cleaning). Simple/minor wound dressing changes.
  • Comply with agency requirements. Adhere to infection control and safety principles and standards. Adhere to agency bag care standard. Utilize agency equipment in performance of care. Complete ongoing and annual educational requirements to maintain competency. Regularly attend required staff meetings.
  • Function as a mentor to newly hired staff during orientation and ongoing as needs arise. Provide hands on practical training in the field to new employees that shadow them during orientation in order to enhance their personal care skill performance and approach to providing excellent customer service. Be available ongoing, as requested by the Care Supervisor, as a field resource and advisor for employees for care related issues regarding challenging clients.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities. Recommend and implement performance improvement strategies. Participate on performance improvement teams, as requested.
  • Perform all direct customer care in accordance with and without deviation to the established Plan of Care, safety procedures, and within the guidelines of Agency policies and procedures.
  • Promote personal, co-worker, customer, and visitor safety during work duties. Maintain and protect customer, staff, and Agency confidentiality. Adhere to Agency and professionally acceptable standards, policies, and procedures. Demonstrate support of agency mission and philosophy in delivery of services.
  • Responsible for accurate documentation of care provided and observations. Document care provided, within the established guidelines of the plan of care. Submit documentation within Agency defined timeframes.
  • Responsible for observing and immediately communicating to the Care Supervisor any significant changes in a customer's condition, suspected cases of abuse or neglect, and safety issues or concerns. Conduct visual safety inspections throughout the work day.
  • Responsible to Human Resources (HR) Compliance. Submit required HR documentation when due. Adhere to Agency dress code. Wear identification badge. Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
  • Utilize GREAT Customer Communication technique when interacting with all customers. Report customer concerns/complaints to the Care Supervisor for immediate follow up and resolution.


  • High School Diploma or GED required. 
  • Access to transportation in the Agency service area with valid Pennsylvania drivers license and auto liability insurance. 
  • No weight restrictions for lifting or moving

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Automotive Insurance
  • Driver's License
  • Older Adult Protective Services Act
