The Child Advocacy Center of Lawrence County (CAC), together with UPMC Jameson, seeks an Executive Director to lead our organization. A highly visible role within the communities we serve, this position reports directly to the President of UPMC Jameson and UPMC Horizon.

As Executive Director, you will be responsible for the efficient operation and growth of the CAC. You will have accountability for the successful management of all programs, including preventative and complementary services that support the underlying mission of the CAC.

You will strive to maintain cooperative relationships with the CAC Board of Directors, UPMC Jameson, CAC staff, State, County and Social Service organizations in an effort to achieve and maintain the success of the program. 

Additionally, you must ensure successful administration of grants and oversight of and adherence to budgets, while ensuring appropriate accreditation through the National Childrens Alliance (NCA) as an expectation of the role.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop community awareness related to the prevention of child abuse and the community intervention process.
  • Develop programs and services based on funding potential and community needs.
  • Effectively establish and maintain positive working relationships with UPMC Jameson Management while functioning in a matrix environment.
  • Ensure all performance management and staff development activities are completed successfully as well as the establishment of administrative policies and procedures.
  • Establish, in consultation with the Board of Directors, a strategic plan for program and service development. Collect and maintain accurate statistical data and interpret to CAC Board and UPMC Jameson Board of Directors.
  • Initiate and maintain a systematic process for monitoring and evaluating programs and services.
  • Interact and network with community agencies and service providers to coordinate services while providing education and professional training as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with the Multidisciplinary Team Partner administrators of the District Attorneys Office, Children & Youth Services, Local Law Enforcement, Crisis Shelter, Human Services, UPMC Jameson Hospital, as well as administrators of Juvenile and Adult Probation and the Courts.
  • Maintain search for additional funding for services.
  • Oversee all administrative tasks necessary to the effective management of the Children's Advocacy Center including but not limited to recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers in conjunction with the appropriate Board.
  • Perform all necessary grant research, writing and administration.
  • Prepare an annual budget in cooperation with the Finance Committee and UPMC Jameson Finance department. Develop and submit budget recommendations to the CAC Board and UPMC Jameson Board of Directors.
  • Prepare reports and statistics required by various funding sources.
  • Represent the CAC at the PA Childrens Advocacy Center and MDITs quarterly meetings and related committee assignments. Facilitate the Child Death Review Team of Lawrence County and the Child Fatality/Near Fatal Review Team and complete necessary paperwork/reports.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Nursing, Business, or related field.
  • Management and supervisory experience required.
  • Prior experience leading a multipurpose non-profit agency preferred
  • Grant writing/fundraising experience preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills including public speaking.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 31 Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance

Salary Range: $27.73 to $45.65 / hour
